Pre-Debate Preparation
Performing these steps the day before the debate gives you
enough time to recover if any issues occur.
1.) Make final edits to the presentation slides and create a backup to the cloud or external drive.
2.) Install any pending system updates and reboot the computer.
3.) If the system seems slow, perform an anti-virus scan, malware scan, clear
browser caches, uninstall unnecessary programs, and clear hard drive space to
ensure optimal system performance.
Steps to take no less than 3 hours before the debate.
1.) If possible, disconnect from Wi-Fi and connect using an Ethernet cable.
2.) Perform a pre-debate system reboot.
3.) Open your presentation to ensure proper formatting.
4.) Close any unnecessary programs that might be running in the background.
5.) Open the browser tabs that you will use in the debate. Limit the number of open
tabs to ensure optimal system performance.
6.) Log into Streamyard https://www.streamyard.com.
7.) Within Streamyard, verify that your camera is working correctly.
8.) Within Streamyard, verify that your microphone (input) is working correctly.
9.) Within Streamyard, verify that your speaker/headphones (output) are working
correctly.
One hour before the debate, your presentation material and browser
tabs should be open and ready. Unless absolutely necessary, make
no last-minute new system changes one hour before the debate
